MEET OUR TEAM
Cara was appointed to lead Cover-More Group as Group CEO in June 2020. She joined Cover-More in June 2018 as CEO, Global Medical Assistance and in October 2018 was promoted to Group Chief Operating Officer as part of Cover-More’s global transformation.
Previously, Cara worked for QBE Insurance where, from 2015 to 2016, she was Group Head of Transformation and Change responsible for a $250m global program portfolio. In 2017 she became Group Head of Operations, with a team of 4000, reporting directly to the Group CEO. Prior to QBE Cara was with Accenture for more than 20 years where she held a series of Global/APAC leadership roles in banking, insurance, mining, consumer goods and government sectors.
Cara holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) degree from the University of Queensland.
Judith joined Cover-More in 2016 to lead all global retail travel and airline business. After Cover-More became part of Zurich in 2017, Judith was appointed to the new role of CEO, EMEA and in September 2018, Judith was promoted to CEO, Asia Pacific.
Judith is a highly experienced airline and travel industry executive with more than 30 years’ experience with some of the largest companies in Australia, the UK, and the United Arab Emirates. She joined Cover-More from Virgin Australia where she had been Chief Commercial Officer since 2012. Prior to joining Virgin Australia, Judith held senior positions at Qantas, Etihad Airways and Flight Centre as well as a number of global travel management companies.
Judith is based in Sydney.
Shannon was appointed CEO, North America in November 2020 and leads our business across the region. She heads up our Travelex Insurance Services business which is the third largest travel insurance provider in the USA. Shannon has worked with our Travelex business for more than 24 years and is responsible for the growth of the business and key partnerships with significant brands in the US travel industry.
She is based in Omaha, Nebraska.
Alfredo joined Cover-More in February 2019 to lead the sustainable growth and profitability of the Universal Assistance and Travel Ace businesses in Latin America which Cover-More acquired in 2018—the acquisition made Cover-More the second largest travel assistance provider in the region.
Alfredo has more than 30 years’ executive experience in financial services in Latin America, most recently with Chubb Insurance where he has been a Regional Director since 2014. He is a Latin America specialist and his understanding the culture and business practices across the region are invaluable as Cover-More accelerate the growth of business in LatAm.
Alfredo is based in Santiago, Chile.
Damien joined Cover-More Group in 2019 to support the growth and development of our assistance capability. He is a very experienced senior leader with deep expertise in the healthcare industry and in leading clinical teams. He has worked for more than 25 years as a management consultant, mostly with Accenture in the healthcare field and brings strong leadership, analytical and management skills to Benestar.
Damien was formally appointed as CEO, Benestar on 1 October 2019. He is based in Benestar's head office in Sydney.
Adrian joined Cover-More in 2019 to head Cover-More’s global medical assistance business which spans three continents and involves highly skilled teams of doctors, registered nurses, case managers, and travel and logistics specialists.
Previously Adrian worked with International SOS in Asia Pacific, leading the assistance organisation’s business in the region for the past three years, most recently as CEO Asia Pacific. Before joining International SOS in 2010, Adrian worked as a senior executive for Linfox in logistics and supply chain specialisation. He possesses a Bachelor of Economics from La Trobe University in Melbourne and a Masters of Science from the University of Denver.
Kate is responsible for leading all aspects of Group Human Resources and ensuring our group has the optimum global workforce, skills and talent to achieve our strategic objectives.
Kate has more than 20 years of HR experience and joined Cover-More from Zurich Group in Switzerland where she was Group Head of Employee Experience, Diversity and Wellbeing.
She has also worked with Westpac Banking Corporation, American Express Limited and the law firm Ashurst Australia. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canberra, and an MBA from Charles Sturt University.
Kate is based in Sydney, Australia.
Ryan was appointed as Group Chief Financial Officer in July 2020 after filling the role on an interim basis since December 2019. He is responsible for financial leadership across Cover-More's global operations. Previously he was Group Financial Controller.
Ryan joined Cover-More in October 2012 and has been a central part of Cover-More's financial management team during the change from private ownership through ASX-listing, to the 2017 acquisition of Cover-More by Zurich Group.
He has more than 20 years' experience in financial management in the global insurance industry.
Ryan is based in Sydney, Australia.
Ernesto was appointed as interim CEO, Europe, Middle East and Africa in December 2019, and is also CEO of Cover-More's operations in the United Kingdom.
He joined Cover-More Group in 2017, following Cover-More's acquisition of the company he founded—Halo Insurance Services, an award-winning online insurance broker, specialising in non-standard vehicle insurance. Its retail brand, iCarhireinsurance.com, is now a leading provider of specialist car hire excess insurance in Europe. Halo has recently entered into the GAP Insurance space with another specialist brand, InsuretheGap.com.
Ernesto is responsible for the growth of Cover-More Group's business across the region. He is based in London, UK.
Manuel is a highly experienced risk, investment and sustainability professional and joined Cover-More following 12 years with Zurich in Switzerland and the US, most recently as Head of Risk Strategy and Reporting.
His in-depth working knowledge of Zurich’s global risk and compliance frameworks is pivotal for Cover-More’s global operations and strategic growth aspirations.
Manuel is a graduate of the London School of Economics and holds a master’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Basel. He is a charterholder with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) institute.
Manuel is based in Sydney, Australia.
Charles leads the legal teams across our global businesses and provides critical support for the implementation of Cover-More’s growth strategy. He brings considerable industry experience in travel insurance to Cover-More as well as strong commercial acumen and understanding of government regulatory frameworks in Australia and internationally.
Before joining Cover-More, Charles was General Counsel with Chubb in Sydney and also previously worked with nib/World Nomads and with Allianz in Australia.
Charles is based in Sydney, Australia.
Conor joined Cover-More Group in 2021. He is skilled in digital transformation, enterprise architecture, information security, IT service management, and IT strategy alignment, and joined us from his role of Group CIO for Provident Financial Group and Vanquis Bank in the UK.
Conor will be based in the London office of Cover-More and lead our IT teams across the US, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Europe.
Chris joined Cover-More Group in 2021 and leads our global priorities in digital and direct channels. He oversees marketing in 15 countries across the UK, Europe, US, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Previously General Manager and Chief Marketing Officer with online travel insurance provider World Nomads, Chris is a highly respected digital marketing specialist. He has more than 20 years’ experience in brand strategy development, e-commerce growth, strategic partnership development, team development and leadership, and community development.
Chris is based in Sydney, Australia.
